Gateway Community Health Center hosts Free Genetic Conference and Resource Fair for Families of Children with Developmental Disabilities and Autism
Gateway Community Health Center, in collaboration with AHEC, Baylor College of Medicine, Texas Children’s Hospital, and The University of Texas at Austin Texas Center for Disability Studies, is excited to host a free Genetic Conference & Resources Fair for Parents of Children with Developmental Disabilities & Autism. This event will take place on Friday, April 28th, and aims to provide valuable information and education on the latest genetic discoveries, improved screening methods, diagnosis, and treatment/condition management options.
For parents and caregivers of children with developmental disabilities and autism, access to quality resources and information is critical. That’s why the Gateway Community Health Center is partnering with some of the top medical institutions in the country to provide this free conference and resource fair.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the latest advancements in genetic testing and diagnosis, as well as new treatment and management options. Dr. Daniel Garza, a renowned pediatric neurologist, will be among the speakers at the conference, providing valuable insights and knowledge for parents and caregivers.
The conference will also feature a resource fair, where attendees can speak with experts in the field and learn about a variety of resources and services available in the community. This is an excellent opportunity for families to network with other families facing similar challenges and to connect with local organizations that provide support and resources.
